Better than the red clay in the Carolinas..

I grew up in South Carolina and currently live in North Carolina. Last time I checked, nobody around here would bury $500 worth of live rock and rotting crab carcasses in their back yard but apparently that's what folks up in Joisey do. ;)

Backyard.... that's where you bury the catfish heads and deer leftovers in hunting season.

Oh, and seriously though, I'd give the freshly excavated rock a good bleaching for a few days, and a good dechlorinating for a few days, before I'd use them. Soils can contain some very unwelcome microorganisms.

Cousin Eddie, is that you?

yeah especially it called dead rock now you will have to seed it again cant imigine putting it underground like you did nj is not beverly hills where a little smell wont bother neighbors they would just tjink aunt sally visiting with the crab smell around

Well that is what you do in NJ, you bury your problems without thinking twice! Or concrete shoes!

And that smell is usually the breeze coming out of NY!! lol

dead Live Rock and dead crabs and the like we just pile up on Staten Island. someday it will be a ski slope

Seriously though did you fertalize the lawn or spray and chemicals? I would be worried about phosphates

I take care of the lawn I only mow and where the rock was buried was just in a dirt pile. The stink bugs are all over where I live but they only smell if you squish them.
