live rock hitch-hiker

a few weeks ago, my boyfriend started cycling a 55 gallon saltwater aquarium. after purchasing a few large live rocks, some hitch-hikers became very apparent..one of which is a mantis. i know they are detrimental to the environment he wants in the tank, so he was carefully extracted. he'd planned on flushing him or dumping him down the drain, but i wanted to give the mantis a shot. right now, he's almost completely transparent with a milky color to him. so..on to my question -he's under an inch long, maybe 1/2-3/4 or so. what do i feed him when he's this small? right now, he's in a glass bowl with a small piece of live rock., if he makes it through the next few days, his own tank will be underway. i've read here about a lot of foods for them, but he's too small for those things. can someone help?

Frozen Mysis too!! You can even try and chop up some fresh shrimp and see if it will take that from a stick. I'm sure the little guy will eat, just make sure you take out what is left over!

Frozen mysis is probably your best bet. At the size I am picturing it, one or two nice juicy mysis shrimp would be a nice meal.

he has a new home now and seems to love brine shrimp... most of them are bigger than he is though. was fine last night, but as of this morning, he's in one spot of his new tank and not moving. it's now sunny in here and he has rock to hide under, but never even tried to hide. i know he ate yesterday because he used to be see-through and now he has a black stripe (full intestine, maybe?). the temp is fine, so he's warm enough... and last night he was thrashing around a lot, but always righted himself and scooted along the bottom. any idea what's going on?

edit: i know the water is fine, it's been checked, and was from existing aquarium.
