Live rock in dark or under light?

Does live rock do anything different filtration wise with light version always in the dark? If so what are pros and cons?

No it doesn't matter. I take it you're talking about once the rock is actually "live" and not being cured to become "live"

Once the bacteria is there it does it's thing 24/7
