Live Rock in QT

I know most folks on here don't use live rock in their QT tanks but I'm wondering if it might be a good option for me. My main QT is a 35g tank, which I quarantine groups of fish in together. My setup is such that i don't have room to do the TT method, so my QT period consists of medicating with prophylactic courses of metronidazole, prazipro and cupramine. Since I'm not breaking the tank down repeatedly to sterilize for TT, might it be a good idea to throw some live rock in there? I would think having some bio filtration in the tank would reduce the number and size of water changes I have to do during the QT process. Thoughts?

I should add that I do have a few sponge filters in there, so there is SOME bio filtration. Just thought more would be better.

Oops never mind. Just did 2 min of research and found that LR will absorb meds. I'll just seed a few more sponges in my DT and add those. :-)

yup, you have the right idea. :)

now, do NOT put those qt live rocks back into your dt. if they have absorbed any copper, it'll kill your inverts and if your fish, God forbid, have something like ich, that can also be found on the rock.
