i plan on using 100 lbs of fiji live rock in my 75 gallon reef tank. would it be nessesary to have live rock in a sump too, or will the 100lbs be enough to keep parimeters down. i have the cpr294 biofilter but i was wondering about the biomedia that came with it. do i just need to remove it altogether. please help

if there is liverock in it it no longer is a sump but would be a refugium.

i believe the liverock needs light to stay "alive" so you might as well just put it all in your display unless you want to add a light and some live sand, and plants or something to the fuge (refugium)

Need more info on what you plan on putting in your display, what kind of lights you have ect... might want to try posting in the new reefers forum.

you mind as well make a sump/'fuge...its the best of both worlds. I have mine on power compacts 24/7 . and lr,ls,and macro. its great for exporting nutrients and has tons of pods and other critters living in there.
