live rock question

I just recently recieved an order of the hand selected fiji live rock. When it arived the syrofoam(sp)box was completly broken in to pieces and the live rock was exposed to extreme cold temperatures(17-39 degrees F). I couldnt tell this because there was no damage to the actually cardboard box. I was just wondering if this affects the life that was on the rocks? Is my live rock complete dead rock now?

i had the same problem with one of the sponsers here on RC. it took me 4 months to get my rock replaced. (i had to pay return shipping and the original shipping) it never accumulated coralline, (in 4 months) it cycled every 2 weeks NH3/NH4 would be OK one day and the next it would smell like road kill in July the next day and NH3/NH4 would jump from .05 to 1.25 overnight. it was supposed to be Kaelini but it looked like it came from someones backyard. when i took it out to return it i almost puked from the raw sewerage smell ommiting from it! sorry, i cant post the co. name i got suspended for one week because i complained about the sponser. so, good luck with liveaquaria.com they may be a little more cooperative then the other sponser. my UPS claim has never been paid and it was filed 14 months ago!

Yeah my basement smells like road kill right now. This isnt the first time i cycled live rock and it never smelled like this before.
