Live Rock w/ Halimeda FS

Phish Lover
My 180g tank burst open with a giant crack so I have to get rid of lots of LR and halimeda. I have a garbage can filled with it. I will sell it for $2.50/lb. If that seems too much I'm sure we can work something out. I live in Upper St. Clair.

Here are some pics of the LR I have for sale. Lots of it has halimeda growing right out of it, while there is a 40g bucket filled with LR w/o halimeda. The rock is all cured and doesn't smell. It either comes directly from my 75g reef or the tub that's filled with pumps and airstones. It is 99% aiptasia free from my butterflies and shrimp eating them all. There are no other pests. There are colorful yellow calcareous sponges on the underside of some of the rocks. Most of it is purple, and about half is pocillopora branch and the other half is marshall island, tonga branch and figi. Most people are probably not interested in the halimeda, but it is very easy to care for and adds a natural look to your display or can also grow in a refugium with a sandbed or more rock. I'm selling any of this rock for $2.50/lb., $100/50lbs. Check out the pics:

The rock could have tiny Sarcophyton or Lobophytum on them. Along with baby brittle starfish, hermit crabs, turbo snails, Stomatella varia, and maybe even a hidden peppermint shrimp

It was a Glasscages 180g 48X24X25. Many reasons why it could have broke:
1. Oh, probably the most important factor was that one of the top glass braces was chipped pretty severely by my father being a dumb a$$ and dropping something on it. The main part of the brace was intact but the top layer had to be siliconed. This was on the same side and same area where the crack started.
2. Mishandling when moving, not supporting it correctly, even with the suction cups
3. I built my own stand, which was dam level, but could have been off slightly
4. The tile floor underneath could have been not level
5. Possibly the changes in temp from 93F or higher under 3 MH's to air conditioned 68F at night repeatedly could have expanded and contracted the glass, especially if already chipped. It also could have expanded and contracted the wood in the stand
6. There may have been micro cracks, or I didn't repair the cracked brace sufficiently which eventually fully cracked the whole 1/2'' through
7. The construction of the Glasscages tank was not superb, the black trim was coming undone and was flared out on the bottom right
8. Glasscages top bracing wasn't completely surrounding the top, it had gaps around the overflows
9. I didn't mishandle it except when moving it and never smashed anything i.e. LR against it
10. I used the purple foam from HD to add cushioning under the tank. It was stiffer than most foam padding

So I would say the cracked brace started the crack and the expanding/contracting finally gave way.

The rock looks beautiful. Where in pittsburgh are you located? I'm in Valencia. I might like a piece or two the rock if your close-by.

Opps just started reading again. Upper st. clair huh, agh that's a little too far to go for some rocks. Let me know if your ever coming up this way.
