Smell it first , it should smell like the ocean and not like ammonia. Then a quick 30 sec. dip in fresh ro water would help weed out unwanted hitch hikers. If its fully cured then u should be fine but remember things like ick and aptesia are hard to see so the best way is to QT any and all new stock. I say this but i have never QT'd anything.GL...
Depending on how much rock and how "live" it is. I have put pieces in and been fine but even weeks later can push gunk out with a turkey baster. Sometimes I get worried about amonia spike. Always worked out for me
How much LR are you adding and how big is your tank? If it's a lot, then I suggest to cycle the rock in a bucket so as to not cause an ammonia spike in the dt.
You would be better off cycling it in water you take from your tank, then replace that water with the RO water. That way you will introduce more beneficial bacteria to your rock, in case it is not completely cured.
