Live Rocks - charity?

I thought I'd ask anyways.

Anyone giving away their live rocks, powerheads or water test kits?

I'm just new to this and after learning how costly this hobby can get. I want to try it out first and start slow. I have a 55 gal glass tank. I'm planning to have fish only for now.

Currently I have water, live sand and skimmer running.

a lot of people are selling LR now, I think it around $2 per pound. I think if you can not afford that, it will be really hard for you to be in this hobby. LFS sell for atleast $4-6 per pound. If you really want to get in to this hobby buy use stuff from ppl in RC is the best way to go. I mean including equipment and live stock, much cheaper than lfs.
sorry to said that

When I start this hobby a few month ago, I feel the same thing you feeling now. Why is hobby is so expensive, but I fall in love with this hobby anyway, so I willing to break my piggy bank.

Go to the swaps, but remember the LFS will get you sooner or later. This hobby can be pricey, my electric bill last mo was $425

There was this cool guy that hooked me up with Rock and sand once upon a time.

I am shutting down a 90 in in a few weeks...

IF you can wait, I will have some rock, and sand you can have.

the catch is that you need to come pick it up. I am in Rancho Santa Margarita.

Chances are goo you will have some corals attached to that rock too. The rock has bubble algea on it, that is the one down side.

if he passes on that rock WarDaddy... i will gladly take it off your hands... :D
