Live Rotifers?

Where can I get live rotifers locally? I am in Rogers Park and don't want to have to drive several hours, but if I have to I will. Living Sea doesn't carry live rotifers and I haven't really been to any other places, so I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. Thanks!

i think you have to grow them. not sure though.

Yeah, I plan to, but I need some to start with and was hoping that somewhere had them as "starter cultures." I would imagine that Rod has some but I don't know if he sells them. I think I will call him and find out

Rod got me started with my rotifer farm. He set me up with the equipment and the rotifers and a great deal of advice. Carl set me up with an emergency culture to get me restarted after my culture crashed. I learned the hard way that you do not put an airstone in your culture. He also gave me great advice. Now, my culture is humming along and the critters in my tank are happier for it.

You will likely find down the road that you have crashed a culture and will need a restart. There are several of us out here that will be more than willing to help you out with new rotifers. Don't be shy to ask.
