Live sand for the taking! West of Yreka though.

I am breaking down my 60 gallon tank. Moving all LR, corals, fish, etc, into a 35 gallon cube-ish type tank.
And I am not going to keep the sand.
ALL this sand is the Southdown Sand that I have had since I lived in TX.
This sand has been in this tank since I had the tank in the bay area, around August of 2005.
Can't remember how many pounds, but I think I put in either 80 or 120 pounds back then. No idea how much it is now though.

Sand has a fair amount of life in it. Mini brittle stars, feather dusters, some odd worms, etc.
And I would hate to see this go to waste.
So, anyone want/need some FINE grade live sand?
I didn't filter out the super fines when I put this sand in, so it still has the silty affect.

Good stuff for a deep sand bed, or just to seed your tanks with a little different life.

Sand is FREE. Although I wouldn't turn down a few frags ;)
Bad part, I live near Fort Jones, which is about 20 miles west of Yreka, near the Oregon border.

Ok, I looked at it a bit closer, and I am guessing that there is in the 50 to 60 pound range for sand that is there.

It's got to go SOON!

Btw, I will be heading down to Mather Airforce base (VA apt) this friday.
I could deliver, but I would hate for it to sit in my truck while I am at my apt.

Yeah, I just hate to see it go to waste.

I can always just rinse it with freshwater and let it dry out. But like I said, such a waste.

Just wanted to say thanks for the sand. When I got it home I could still see live things in it. :) I got it in the tank right away...a day and a half later the dust storm has mostly settled. The best part is it is exactly what I had in the tank so it was perfect. Perfect!
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Glad it's working out for you.
While taking the tank down, I noticed a large amount of life in the sand, from many different worms, to the mini brittle stars, some limpet type snails (eat algea on the glass), and even some sand bed clams!

Hope it all works out for the best for you.
