I have a Sicce Syncra 4 return pump as a spare.

I think I'm going to do a little research on which internal pump I should get. Tank is only 50g so I think I need a pump that is pushing about 500gph if I remember correctly. Also want something quiet with very little heat into water and low power consumption.

Those live sand bags have some amount of oxygen exchange through the plastic which keeps it live, without that the bag would swell up like a balloon and stink from the hydrogen sulfide as anaerobic bacteria take over. I'm about to replace my sandbed with some sand in a bag in the coming month, will post how it goes.
