Live shellfish

I was thinking of putting some live mussels in my sump for the filtration ability, anyone have any experience with this ?
How do I introduce them, same as acclimatising a new fish ?
Should I test the salinity of the water in the packaging, if any is there ?

From where? They'll have to be tropical species, and like anything else, should be QT'd

You'll probably need quite a few of them as well if you want to see any significant results.

They are in Costco , I was going to do a water change and leave them for a few days to get acclimatised with a air stone and a power head in a separate tank
