hey guys did a parameter check this morning:

ph - 8.2
amm - 0
nitrites - .25 (down from like 2)

this is starting to go great. i started ghost feeding on 4-25-08. thanks for all the help

as soon as the nitrites are down to 0 i will do a 50% water change and then add CUC. dont think i am going to go with any crabs.

nasarius snails
turbo snails
2 fighting conches

It looks like you have an open top.

Wrasses, firefish, and blennies are jumpers.

i have a glass top for the tank. just dont have it on right now till the cycle is complete.

thanks

also my girlfriend looked at a different pic of a flasher wrasse and loved it. so there will be a flasher somewhere in the mix

parameter update:
ammonia 0
Nitrite 0

Will do a 50% water change with my new RO/DI unit. Then I will add CUC. Still need some help with the CUC. Thanks.

Stock slowly. maybe just satart out w/ about a dozen snails or so of different variaties. Nassarius, cerith, nerite, mexican turbo, trochus, adn margarita snails are all good choices. You said earlier that you didn't want any hermits but I enjoy watching them in my tank. Scarlet reef hermits are the best choice and for something unique you could get a couple electric blue hermits. If you decide to get a few hermits though, make sure you have plenty of empty shells or else the crabs will murder the snails for their shells.

thanks packer, i got my cleaner crew today. i am acclimating them now and will be adding them tonight. will take pics tomorrow night and post.

update

hey guys i did a parameter test on sat after adding my CUC.

ammonia 0
nitrite .25
nitrate 5
salinity 1.025
temp. 79-81
i use RO/DI water.

been ghost feeding very little. also i was told that i should blend up some silversides and add to the tank for my hermits so they dont go after my snails. is this true? also i dont know if a snail died or 2 hermits were hungry but i found the hermits digging into one of the shells of my snails... thanks.

did you do the waterchange yet? Water parameters are still a little off. I feed my hermits w/ small pices of frozen shrimp form the grocery store and seaweed on a veggie clip close to the sandbed. As for the snail, it could of been the hermits or the nitrate.

thanks pack. 5 on the nitrate is high?? also all levels were 0 when added the CUC. nitrite when up and trate when up after adding CUC. but trite is 0 again and doing another WC tonight.

i second the vote for a midas blenny. Mine is one of my favorite fish in the aquarium. Lots of personality and looks pretty cool too. Just keep in mind that some tend to be jumpers. Its never fun to find out that one of your fish went carpet surfing.

thanks packer. i really love tha tfish. that will definately be on the list. by the way my GF wants a flasher wrasse.
