LiveAquaria carberryi anthias

The QT tank has been running for 4 months and these were not the first fish in it. I've been adding 1 or 2 fish each month after a 4-5 week quarantine including a CBB ( and a C. mesoleucus.

Now, I'm not a 100% certain it was Crypto. I think you may be right and it may have been an issue with the water. My ammonia kept reading 0, but I didnt' check for nitrites or 'trates. I've got more water ready and will do additional water changes. As soon as these 2 are eating well (assuming they fully recover) I think I'll skip the rest of the quarantine period and put them in the display tank.

The last 2 fish are still hanging in there and one has rediscovered its appetite.

One survived and is doing very well. She (from appearences soon to be a he) eats mysis, nutramar ova, cyclopeeze and frozen formula 1 with gusto. After my QT frees up (have a pair of OSFF in there now) I may try and get her/him some friends.

LA Had them on sale again the beginning of April.
I bought 5 carberryi (not sexed) and 5 lyretails (4 female-1 male). And 3 wrasse , a longfin, Lubbock's and Mckosker's, in the same order to go in my rebuilt 180g (crashed in Sept. from contaminated filter socks).
Unfortunately one of the carberryi arrived doa with no water in the bag. LA gave credit for it.

The others are doing well and like other anthia I've had eat, as mentioned above, anything.
I feed 3-4 times daily with some combination of all the stuff mentioned with Hikari mysis being the largest component.
Mine are under 250W Radiums and, so far, have great color.

I'm digging up this thread to see how everyone's anthias is doing. I ordered 3 last week and they all showed up with what appeared to be a bacterial infection which I now know is uronema. After seeing how healthy all of yours were I am wondering what is going on with them right now. I am about to order 3 more after they have refunded me, and I would like to know how you guys acclimated, what temp you kept the tank at and what salinity. It appeared that the salinity of the water they arrived in was 1.020 and my QT tank was 1.024 since I wanted it to be the same as my DT. Now I have it with fresh water and 1.020 salinity, should this be ok? I figure, the less time they stay in their old water the better right?

Old thread but very interesting informtion. I have sunset and ignitus in my 135 gal and they are doing well. The ignitus were small size and are growing well. I feed the tank live brine shrimp every day. They also get at least one serving of frozen food (most of the time three feedings),mostly Mysis, brine, plankton and sometimes fish frenzy or cypclozeeze. I feed over a 5 to 6 hour time window. However, with the live brine it is over an extended period since I feed with a feeder. The color after a year ist still great. Like some others said in this thread it is highly dependent on the light you use. I am at about 14 k at peak time with my radions and that's when the look best, esp the sunset. If you higher as I do during ramp up and down at the beginning and end their fine coloration differences become almost unnoticeable.
