LiveRock and Phosphates - A Rocky Relationship?

Trying to understand the root cause of a recent algae bloom in my 2 year old tank. In reading the forums, I became curious about the relationship between rock and phosphates and have a few questions revolving around the liklihood of rocks that have been in an aquarium for over a year contributing to phosphate issues after seeming fairly stable.

* Can true live rock (i.e. purchased from an aquarium with life already on it) still leach phosphates over time?
* Can products like Real Reef Rock also leach over time? If yes, what might cause this?
* Does moving rocks release phosphate?
* Does breaking rocks release phosphate (i.e. break a bigger rock to a smaller size)

Appreciate any insight!
