Livestock and filter question for new 150 gallon FOWLR

Hello,
I am very excited about starting my new FOWLR tank and have a few questions before I begin building on it. I plan on getting live sand and about 200 pounds of live rock for the tank. What type of filtration would I need. My current tank is 4 feet long by 2 feet wide and 150 gallons. Would a canister filter be enough or would I need a wet dry filter. Either way I plan on having a protein skimmer. This is the list of fish I would like to get for it. Do you think they would work together or should I reconsider. Thanks for all your help.

1 Maroon clownfish
1 Yellow tang
1 Powder blue tank
1 Humu humu trigger fish
1 Niger trigger fish
1 emporer angel ( Sorry I know I spelled it wrong)
1 wrasse (not sure what kind yet)
1 Lionfish
1 Zebra or snowflake eel.

Also anyone know of a good place to buy live sand or live rock? I know about saltwater fish.com and live aquaria

First off I wouldn't mix a lion fish with a Trigger. That can lead to the Trigger attacking the lion fish. The Powder Blue & Emperor will outgrow your tank too. That is also a lot of fish for a 150g tank.

As mentioned the lion/trigger combo is not a good idea. I would pick either a lion or triggers not both. The emperor angel and powder blue get way to big for a 4 foot tank. If there are no plans for a larger tank I would skip on those two. The other fish would be ok as long as the wrasse you choose in not one that gets too large.

Thanks for the help. I think I will go with the Lionfish. Do you know any other tangs or angels that are striking or colorfull that would go good in the tank and be ok with the size?

Any of the dwarf angels would do well in your tank. The only tangs I would recommend for that size tank are a yellow or a kole tang.

Will the dwarf angels be ok with the lion fish? Are they large enough not to be ate. Will a hippo tang go ok in the tank? Also what about starfish? Will the eel bother the starfish?

Go with a Green Bird Wrasse! (IMO the powder blue will be fine in a 150, however start with a small one, and feed him well, make sure he has healthy tankmates, AND ADD HIM LAST!!!

Thanks Baldwin, I looked at your youtube video nice tank. I really would like a powder blue and all the fish info online says that min tank is 100 gallons but I guess that its because mine is not long enough that people think it would not work. I dont want to harm the fish so I prob will not get it.

It's not that your tank isn't big enough for a powder blue tang. I think the issue is more that it isn't big enough for a pbt to peacefully coexist with other fish.

For your lionfish question it depends on what type of lionfish. A dwarf lionfish would be fine with any dwarf angel, a volitan would potentially be a threat down the road.

Zebras and snowflakes both eat crustaceans in the wild and given the opportunity would probably eat a starfish. I have a zebra and a snowflake in my 120 and I think either would be a good fit for your tank.
