Hopefully this doesn't get removed. One of our local fish store owners, Al Armour, was murdered during a robbery of his store a few days ago in Carrollton, TX. For those of you in the Dallas/Ft Worth area, if you are in the hobby you all know Al. Al was one of the most knowledgeable individuals that you could meet and talk about saltwater aquaria. Not only could you talk about saltwater stuff, but just about life in general.
It really breaks my heart that someone so caring can be taken away from us by someone so heartless. If you know Al, please leave some of your fondest memories of him in this thread.
This is his website: http://dynamicreef.com/ and his Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/DynamicReef.
I am also trying to get in touch with his sister to try to get a crowd fund for his family. Al leaves behind a loving wife and an 18 month old baby.
I remember going to where Al used to work and always talking to him and he would always tell me that he was going to open his own store. He had been telling me that for over 3 years and I would always say, "Al, you been telling me that for a long time, just do it." About 6-7 month ago he finally did. I was happy for him that he was taking the risk and trying to do something great for his family. Even with bills, etc. he always wanted to give me a deal when I went into his store. I would tell him not to because I know how much it cost him to get his business going and that he had his family to provide for. He still would insist on giving me a deal. He was a hobbyist first and store owner second. He will be truly missed by our DFW local hobbyist.
I am trying to communicate with his sister about setting up a crowd fund for his family. If I hear back from her on it I will post to this thread.
