Local Flooding

I saw on the news that they were talking about some localized flooding, specifically the 141 and 44 area in Valley Park along the Meramec.

Andy's Animals is down there. I wonder what he does if that happens or if they order evacuations? The animals and fish/corals?

i hope he has a plan. the news just said flood stage will reach 38 feet above flood stage at 141 and 44 soon.

yeah there expecting that 141 near 44 will be under 5 feet of water by late tonight!!!

maybe we should call and offer his corals a good home during this

i went by andys at around 9:30 on my way home from work, and there was like 5 or 6 pickup trucks there but i couldnt tell if they were for his store or the little convenience store next door. lets all hope that everything is ok and that he had some plan to get the fish, corals and other stuff all to a safe place.

Anybody know which side the Levee broke in Fenton? Andy's side or the Highway 44 side?

Andy's is dry, for now. The road next to him is closed just a little ways back though.

The other side broke. Where Katie used to take riding lessons, the bottom story of their office is under water....

Andy's might be ok depending on how fast the water rises

I thought that new levy was supposed to protect that area with the high school and Andy's?

I think that part of Valley park is in the flood area. In 1982 we skipped school and went to look at the flood. That year was the highest on record in Valley park. I was looking at stats and on the Meramec that 1993 flood didn't even make the top 5. There was a 1994 flood that did. Back in 82 the water was past the school and in the parking lot of that old gas station just north of the school(now on the W outer road).
