Local Rockford LFS's??

I'm going to be in Rockford this weekend and I'm in need of a few "clean up crew" guys. I was wondering if there is going to be anyone selling inverts at the swap or if there are any retail stores within a reasonable distance? Thanks in advance!

Sorry, but there probably won't be anyone w/ clean up crew for sale and there aren't any LFS in the area. We usually go to Rod's in Dekalb or go towards Chicago.

You might want to try calling Midwest Reef Supply. They will be at the swap and might be able to bring some if it's prearranged. 847-844-3140.

Midwest Saltwater will be there as well. I've never been to their store so I'm not sure what they carry. I can't fine a phone number on their website - www.midwestsaltwater.com

Midwest Reef Supply will have a MASSIVE MAJOR amount of inverts and clean up crews at the swap. Last I spoke to John and Ken that was one area they planned on bringing heavy. Most swaps are lacking this for sure, that is why MRS are all over it

Rods reef is good, also try Schaumburg, I think it is called Aqurium adventure or something like that, it is off of Golf Rd. and Roselle. I used to sell to wholesale stuff but just got out of it.

What love for our local shops!! I work weekends at Petland in Cherry Valley and we always have plenty of cleaners.
crabs, snails, stars, shrimps, cucumbers.

So , i would say support the the people at the fest this weekend,
so that they will come back next year, but if you are in need of cleaners in the future and are in the Rockford area we do carry them (and corals and fish) at good prices (in my opinion).

DRTEMPLIN, Petland is also great, I forgot to mention that. They have gotten alot better with corals, especially the holding tanks

They have a pet club card where they send you %20 off your next purchase. I think I get these every month

yyeeeeaaaah um last time I was at pet land I got crap from the cross eyed manager for getting information online. he said "a ohhh you should never listen to people online, or books, they don't know what they are talking about." and all I said was "can my clownfish be caught without using a net?? Because I read online that using nets can damage and stress clownfish to the point of death" also i regularly see fish in thier tanks that need to be euthanized, and plenty that don't(already dead and rotting). I also saw a chocolate chip star munching on their corals right in front of my eyes. one place I think you guys need to check out once in a while is waynes feed store on auburn street. they do treat their fish, and once in a while have great prices on fish(a whole lot cheeper than petland). I got a 5 inch copperband that was eating live black worms (and then mysis shrimp within 2 months in my tank) for 30 bucks. and a flame angel for 60 than was very very healthy. also, if someone sells back a fish to waynes they won't raise the price too much(they had a 12 inch lionfish selling for 50$). do research online before you buy anything unique there because they do not always know if something is reefsafe or not.
