local shops?

Hey all.

I've been a longtime reefcentral lurker, but just recently stumbled upon this part of the forum. I'm glad to see that there's a Sonoma County-related section on here!

Where do you guys usually get your livestock from in the area?

we all shop around. Even as far as Sacramento. Northbay in Cotati is getting better. Stop by Caesar's every now and then, they are going to be making some changes to their SPS section. I think we might see some really nice SPS there in the next six months. Their prices will be awesome also if every thing goes right.

Yeap where ever there are corals and fish within 100 miles radius we have them pretty much covered :D :D

Recently we started to be more active in persuing sponsorship for our club, and I think if we work with our local stores and give them a chance, they will start bringing in better livestock, give us club discounts, frag donnations and in turn we support them by buying stuff from them. Northbay has turn their store around and Ceasar is doing the same so things are getting exciting for us here in sonoma County.

I am courious about the store in Ukiah and wondering if they are willing to sponsor our club ? maybe we should give them a call one of these day. Also if am not mistaken their is another fish store somewhere on Farmers lane too

Tom, the store in Ukiah is putting together their own club and doesn't seem very receptive to much down here. He also doesn't care for Bar and Reef Central.

I just started back at Caesars today. The changes have started.
I had a great talk with the store in Ukiah they seem really into what they are doing. But when i mentioned to them about sponsorship they didn't sound to interested. But maybe you should call them anyway.

Glad to have you back James. The people down south already miss you. Check out the bareefers site

The shop in Ukiah seems out of place! To be honest the place kicks both Northbay and Caesar's a$$... I remember about 5 months ago someone telling me about them so I went there. They were closed but I stood infront looking in for about 10 minutes. Couldn't believe the frag setup! Again this is for Ukiah (sorry if I offended anyone fro Ukiah)? Owner is very well knowledge and has been in the hobby for 20+years but he works close to the individuals who owns aquatic gallery if I'm correct.
For starting a Ukiah club... Is there enough people heavily into saltwater up there? Maybe there is... should have opened up shop in santa rosa or atleast windsor!

Mike, thats fine, let just concentrate on the two stores that are sponsoring us and go from there.

James glad to have you back, lets brainstorm on things that we can do as a club to work with these stores

Jeff, yeah I saw that too :D :D its their lost and our gain

Jasson, that sounds good, I think I will give them a visit and see what they got. Just because they can't sponsor our club doesn't mean we wont buy stuff from them once in a while right ??? :D but yeah they should be closer. I think once our club get bigger, they might be enticed to sponsor us.

As far as sponsoring, their realy is not much they have to do,their is no fee, just give us a standard 10 -20 percent club discount when we buy stuff, and then once in a while donnate frags for the raffles because believe it or not the raffles help attract club members and in turn those members go back to those stores and spend their money so its a win win situation for everyone.
