Local store thread update

The new to the valley thread reminded me that our sticky really needs some updating. When I started at the end of last year I went down that list and was lost multiple times only to discover the shop I was looking for didn't exist anymore.

Can everyone pitch in on stores they know are closed, as well as add new stores that might not be on the list.

I would say at this point (based on "short" visit) on Friday evening that stock is very very low (corals and fish.) Unless I hear of a new owner, that was probably my last visit.

West Coast Corals is closed but runs a website for ordering from. Arizona Ocean is also running from internet and out of her home.

The website seems pretty outdated. I'll leave it up to the forum group as a whole on if we want to leave it on the list. I personally went trying to find the place when I first started not knowing it was closed until I called a friend to check the forums for me.

Yes, that's the one. I was in there Friday. they are selling off their mother colonies (most are gone) and haven't ordered corals for 3 months. The tanks are getting pretty bare and it's clear they are winding down.

Jesse's Aquarium Pets & Reptiles (at 2530 N 7th St) is very slowly expanding into saltwater. Right now they have one saltwater tank with a single grouper for sale. Once it sells, they plan to stock the tank with several smaller saltwater fish, then gradually build up a saltwater plumbing/recirculation system and several saltwater tanks with coral-supporting lights. I think it will be a while before they carry any coral, but if someone's in the market for a grouper...

You're going to PM kirstenk like it says to do in the sticky, not just go directly to RC mods right?
She maintains the majority of the stickies on this forum, and has for pretty much as long as I've been in the valley...

Yeah. I PM'd her a while before I even started the store update thing asking her about it, etc etc. I got the go ahead to just take care of it so I figured it would be an easy little community thing to keep up some what up to date!. I Will talk to her first before going to a MOD.
