Local TDS readings

Okay, my tap water is crap, absolute crap, I just tested my water straight from the tap and its reading 799ppm TDS. For those of us that have TDS meters what are your readings like? Post 'em up with your general location and we can see who has the worst water.

Mine 799ppm w/softener
central Rockford state/prospect st.

In Rochelle my well water tests about 450 on the TDS meter. It hasnt changed much in the last few years that Ive been testing.

Mine says it's at somewhere near 300 - I'm at main & whitman near downtown.

I know my water is good, I have a 7 stage filter system to clean it up before I use it . The downfall is I go through alot of Omni and De-Ionize filters.

Same problem down here,Peru. Tap water TDS around 800.
Lots of bulk DI.

I run about 500, but zero out of the unit for the tank.

How do you guys get your water down to 0 without blowing through a DI cartridge every 40 gallons? Right now I am running a 5stage RO with a 5micron sediment 5micron carbon 2.5 micron carbon with a 100gpd membrane an dual DI canisters.

You might want to check your TDS after your membrane and before the DI to see what it measures before it hits the DI,
I would think you should get a lot more than 40 gallons. I probaby get 100 gallons or so before DI starts to go. I usually change my resin after it get up to about 3 after DI. Its usually around 10-20 going into the resin.
