The DQ King
Hey everyone!!!
After a year or so of browsing the forums and learning from ALOT of you i've finally got some free time to sit down and upload the photos ive taken over the past couple months.
I figured i would give a introduction for all of you as i know some of you already i havent spoken with tons of you as there are alot of people on here. lol. .. Anyhow, the names David. Ive been in the hobby since i was 14, so about 12 years now. I started out with a 75g reef and i got alot of compliments from my freidns / my fathers co workers. I didnt think it was anything special at the time, but now i was shocked at what i kept with what i had available. My family and I go on a trip to mexico every year and about 5 years of the tank being up something happened when we left. Personally i think the lady watching the tank hit the power which made it overflow into the floor ruining the ceiling in the living room. Needless to say the pops was NOT happy when we came back lol. I tore down the tank and was tankless for about 3 years. I got the itch again, but figured i would go smaller (40g breeder) .. bad idea, i just wanted bigger. lol. I was going to put it up in the parents place, but come 23 i was looking at buying a house so i waited.
Finally i got my own house, so i got to put the tank up. All was well for 2 years, then vacation hit again. My ato dosed 15gallons of kalk into the tank killing 95% of things.... sad day. Meanwhile i was putting a new tank in wall in the basement so it was almost ready to go. I moved over what i could and got to working on the tank. The tank would have been up a LONG time prior to this, but after buying the house. Re doing EVERYHING (trim, tile, carpet, drywall...ect) The house flooded on me.. leaving me with 2 ft of water in the basement and more work to do.... yet another sad day. Here is a short video the day it happened
