Lonely black saddle back

So I use to have two of them about a year ago....one of them got sick and died after having them for about a month. They were mated so it sucked big time.

I would like to get another near the same size and try to pair them up. Currently my saddle back is hosting in a bta.

What/how is the best way to introduce another into a tank where I've had only one in that is hosting and has been for about a year?

Also my current clown is in the 2.5 inch area and lives in the same tank with a extra large bi color blennie 5 inch area. The clown is very nice to the blennie the blennie sleeps within touching distance from the clowns nem and the clown doesn't care.
I would call this clown more peaceful than ur average clown.

Thanks

are you sure it's a polymnus?

are you sure it's a polymnus?

if you had a mated pair of black saddlebacks that were laying eggs you have something that I've not ever seen before. (It's extremely unusual).

Black polymnus are usually very mean. If you have a lone female it could be very difficult introducing another saddle. If your fish is somewhat friendly you might have a good shot at getting it to pair up (again) but you might have some very aggressive behavior at first.

A 2.5" saddleback is not fully grown. I'd introduce a smaller fish... or a much larger one. Cover the aquarium!
