Long exposure to air cause bleaching?

I have 2 frags of birdsnest exposed to air for about 20-30 min (forgot I took them out of the water while moving stuff aroudn :worried2::sad2:). This morning they just didn't have polyp extension but when I got home most parts of them were white. All other corals (soft, zoas, LPS, and one other green polyp birdsnest) are fully open and doing well.

Only initial problems with this one when I got it in December is the bottom turned white possibly due to being a small colony so the bottom was covered and went from MH to T50HO but everything else was okay I think.

The ponape still has some polyps on it and doesn't seem to have bleached more, do they re-colonize the skeleton if they do make it? I'm pretty sure the purple bridsnest is done for.

Ive experienced bleaching with my SPS when left out too long and it was cold outside. The cold air really stressed out the coral and caused them to bleach. Color came back to normal (sometimes even better than before) after about 2 weeks.

Cold air will stressed them mine was exposure to cold air.

During my water changes they are exposed for a good time, but I do turn the lights low so they don't dry out completely/too fast, and I also give them the occasional splash just to play it safe.
I concur that cold air is detrimental to their health.

Alright well the purple nest is totally dead. But the ponape colony still has about 65% of its polyps, how do I help it recover? Or do nothing and just keep things stable?
