Has any one had any success keeping a long nose butterfly fish. I have a 92gallon courner reef tank with a yellow tang, coral beutey, dottyback, manderine.2 clowns and a neon goby. Would a long nose get along with these fish.

the longnose would get along with those fish the only problem is that the yellow tang is already established and could pick on the longnose and stress them out and can cause death..longnose buterfly are very hard once you get them eating and adjusted to your tank but the yellow might not allow it to..also with a reef there a hit or miss..mine got along with my yellow tang but it was added before..

The Yellow Tang will most likely ZAP the Longnose.

It will most likely ZAP a Foxface for the same reason, as shape and color pose a competitive threat to an established Yellow Tang.

If the Tang was introduced after the Longnose it may have a chance.

Most fish that school or shoal will either get too big for your tank (like heniochus) or are too passive (like anthias). You may want to try 3 blue-green chromis though they may end up fighting amongst themselves.

I have a longnose butterfly in my tank, he is 3 yrs old. Gets along with everybody fine... If someone hassles him he just sticks out his spines.

With all fish you always seem to have to take some kind of chance.
