Long Polyp leather

I bought this guy at my local fsh store and was told its a Long Polyp leather. Is it indeed that? I have had it about a month and it hasnt changed much from this. It shrinks at night that gets about like this during the day.

It's hard to tell but it looks like it. A closer picture without the blue light would be ideal. IME toadstools can be somewhat temperamental though. I've had some take months to fully extend their polyps and others fully extend within the first week. They're pretty easy to keep though and it should adapt eventually. Also is your tank new? The rock doesn't look like it's been in there long unless the lighting is just messing with it in the picture

Thanks for the info, the tank is about 6 months old. My other corals are growing. Ill see if I can get a picture with out the blue lights.

Give it time, let it shed its mucus a few times and adapt to your life and lack of balance in your tank as it's a new tank

I appreciate all the input guys, I know the tank is still "new" , I was just curious since I am seeing growth from my other corals, and I'm not ashamed to say I am still inexperianced in the coral keeping game! Haha, hows the saying go, If you want to be a millionaire, ask a millionaire!!

Since it was kind of brought up, At what point is a tank considered I guess, Mature? If all my parameters are stable , (1.025 salinity,0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 5 ppm nitrate, 0 phosphate, Calcium 440 and Mag 1300) And I am seeing coraline growth on the live rock. When is it considered not a new tank? I am sincerely asking.

I like to define it as when the parameters can remain stable and you can accurately predict what they will be at when you measure them. Skipping a water change or accidentally leaving the skimmer off for a few days won't result in any noticeable changes to the system. As a result your corals will grow better and your fish should all look healthy. I saw one person put it as they can leave for vacation for a week and not worry about their tank crashing

To be truly mature a tank needs to be 8+ years
But if your asking for semi stable parameters that's all on you and if you dose of seed your tank it can boost it but after the 1 year mark if you let your go your tank without a water change for a month or so your tank won't crash.(your fish and corals may not be as happy)

(Also keep in mind if you used live rock or sand it'll help boost it too)
