Long skirts

What causes zoas to grow longer skirts? For some reason, I have a few zoa colonies that have grown long skirts whereas they didn't look like that when I bought them. Just curious if there is a reason for this.

I dont know I have 10or12 that did the same thing and have been that way for 8months naw but they are all doing good. I think it looks neet.

I personally think low flow causes that, just a theroy.

Interesting stuff. I actually think it looks kind of cool too. Just curious. Does lighting have anything to do with it too? Is it a way for zoas to get more light meaning ones that extend their skirts need to be moved higher up?

i have a high flow tank and i dont have any long skirts.

I think that flow, lighting, species, and stress can all contribute to the streched skirts. Just a theory I am trying out.

i have a friend and every zoa that he puts in his tank gets long skirts for some reason....
