Long Tentacle Anemone

Ok so I see a ton of postings from fellow reefers that have bubble tips and carpets but not seeing a whole lot of LTA's.. I am still having a hard time believing that mine is actually a LTA due to its size... It is 12 in wide at the orbital disc and seems to be getting bigger as the weeks go on... Sooo I would LOVE to see some of yours! :) Here is mine to get it started!

I've seen you post this before, but still advise getting a pic of the foot/base for true and certain ID.
FWIW my last LTA was about 18", which I believe is max size for them.

dav I put a pic up of the base I believe and still no one cld tell me... it has the dots but the are not perfect rows it starts with rows and then scatters up the orbital disc. I really dont want to disturb it again to get better ones but here is one that u can see... I guess my thing is the foot.. all pics I have seen and read abt say that they have orange to red coloration and this one as u can see does not lol... I am just curious and still was looking to see if any fellow reefers had some didnt mean to repost..

I sure want to call that a sebae(crispa) looking at that pic.
Sometimes you look at pics, like Todds, and his pics are so obvious LTA, that corkscrewy look.
I agree, weird that yours does start in straight lines on veracue, but then scatters, and that looks to me like sebae, same as your tents.
Sebae will have a yellowish foot if you ever get a chance to spot that.
Sorry missed this pic posted last time.

These are terrible pics, during tank swap, but they show veracue best.
I had to go back and look at my pics(I don't have this tank or these nems anymore, decided to downsize back when)
My crispa has random spots, but they seem more opaque than your pic, so I'm still not certain.
This is crispa

And of course I need something pretty to counter balance those bad shots, this was my 180G w/ bookend nems, LTA on left, Sebae on right.

I have been able to see the foot and it actually doesnt have any color except for the same as its underside if that helps lol... Now I am really curious what I have lol... Normally its tents do cork screw like in the first shots I posted in this thread. Hmmmm any thoughts???
**** Ooooh and this might help it does bury its foot into the sand but wants to put its foot through rock crevices and then into the sand. ALSO the foot on this thing is very large. I would say at least 8 in long and 4 in around...***

Oh and BTW both urs and todds tanks are AWESOME! Even if both of u got rid of ur LTA's ;)

Thanks, I've been keeping Sebae's and LTA's always over the last 25 years or so, and felt time for a change of scenery(as well as downsize tank for various reasons, but right now back to a 150g, gee, a whole 30g less!LOL)
Anyway, I checked out BTA's, pretty colors, but wanderers.
Also my Picasso's were losing black colors like others have stated happens.
I'm now w/ a Malu, and could not be happier(except maybe 2 Malu's):)
Usually LTA red foot is pretty obvious, if no color(or like my crispa very little yellow color) then that could be.
I haven't seen a pic of yours for absolutely certain ID myself, maybe others w/ good ID exp will chime in.

LOL I know what u mean I have multiple tanks going and abt to upgrade to a 120g and dedicate this tank to my nem and clown :) I am going to take a shot of it again but I am going to try and lift its disc up so I can get a good or better shot lol... I really wanna know for sure what I have so I can care for it properly.... I mean it is doing good has some really cool colors like emerald green and hints of purple on the tents... and as anyone can see it has very long tents lol...

120g is a great footprint for scape and gear, that's really what I was looking for on my present system, but someone backed out of a half paid for brand new tank and I got my 150g for the balance, couldn't pass it up.
Just sucks it takes a day to make water, but I guess better for my one tang, so...

Here is our Purple LTA, we got it a week ago and is doing awesome. Hasn't moved from it's orginal spot. :celeb1:

i just ordered these two LTAs:

i hope they maintain their color!

You actually should hope they don't, those are almost certainly dyed, and they are definitely bleached.
I keep seeing LTA's that look like that, especially that blue(and I don't know what's up w/ the pink on it too)
So far I haven't seen anyone able to keep those blue LTA's
Keep us posted, I'm curious, but I'm pretty certain the blue LTA's we are seeing are dyed.

I bought 2 myself from a very reputable guy, it's possible they are being dyed on collection.
I can't swear to the dying, but I can definitely say they are pretty bleached.
I'm not sure why all of a sudden we are seeing this color of LTA popping up a bit, but it just seems no one is having luck w/ them, myself included.

krak I bought my first LTA and it was the prettiest of whites with florescent green tips with that same coloration.... It died 2 weeks after I got it... and it started turn tan :( I wanna go with dav on that but I HOPE ur story is different :) Now we have a debate if mine is indeed a LTA or not lol
