Long tentacle plate coral leaking Blake stuff

My plate coral seems to be leaking this nasty black stringy stuff from it and its all over my tank. Has anyone had this problem before with a long tentacle plate coral? If so what should I do?

Sorry that title should have said black stuff.

It could just be defecating. They'll do this from time to time. How long have you had it? Do you have an up to date picture?

I've had it for a couple months now.
It looks real big at night but now during the day the tentacles stay small.

I'll try to get s pic and post here in a min.

I think I know why. I done a water change and the water I used the salinity was to high. It raised my tank up and I think the plate coral didn't like that change. I hope it pulls out, but I can tell you it's leaking alot if that black crap out of it though.

That doesn't sound good. If it's not poop it's zooxanthellae, and you don't want to see that coming from a coral. Try to get all your parameters within reason and hope for the best. There not exactly the easiest corals to keep.
