Hi all. I picked up this beaut a week ago. I believe it's lovin life. But I'm a little concerned as I don't dose just do water changes every two weeks religously. It eats or gets feed brine every day. Enough falls on it from feedings. Should I be concerned if I'm not dosing long term.?

Corals need a stable environment. It's not about whether you dose or change water at any particular interval. What matters is that alkalinity, calcium and magnesium are in the correct ratio and stable.

Have you tested your water ?

Do you know anything about the basics of reef tank water chemistry ?

Here's a thread you should read. It'll give you a start on the basics.

Yes I've tested and know about water chemistry.

I guess what I'm more or less asking is if this is going to be a calcium hog. My current tank is mostly softies (toadstool, GPS, zenia) and Anemones, i.e corals that don't use a lot of calcium.
