Long term SPS, what salt r u using? Thinking of ...

Im thinking of Going Red Coral Sea pro....
I hear all numbers are in line, but again, I hear bad batches are plentiful.

I'm using Seachem Salinity now, but can't get that delivered....I like the numbers, and my corals are happy. I can live with this for a very long time. Just not as convenient as delivered.

Reef Crystals was fine, but I prefer Salinity.

I don't want to use Tropic Marin, nor Coralife, kent, IO.......l've been there. DD probably too much for no reason.

I'm fine with what I am using, but I'm thinking of changing to Red Sea Coral Pro because I can get it delivered (very reasonably, too), yet numbers are similar to Salinity and RC.

I do not want to dose anything more than two part, and I don't want to dose the salt mix (like I had to do with IO). I just want the Alk, Calcium, Mag and trace to all be in line, so all I have to do is supplement usage between water changes....simple.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Hi mysterybox,

Hope all is well!

My personal favorite is Brightwell Aquatics NeoMarine. I had a question about potasium content last week, and Christopher Brightwell provided an answer within 24 hours. I've used the Red Sea, Reef Crystals, and NeoMarine. NM is by far my favorite. Check out DFS for some good prices with no additional shipping costs.

Warmest Regards,
James

I am using Red Sea Coral Pro now with no issues at all. Been using red sea for yrs and have never had any issues. You are going to get all kinds of answers and everyone will have a bad story to go against any particular salt. My best advise is to find a salt you think you will like at a reasonable price point and give it a try. You can only choose the best salt by trying it our for your self. Thats what I did a few yrs back and found that I liked Red Sea Coral Pro and have been with it every since. JMHO

Yes, sir, you are correct.....just looking for some feedback and opines....I understand.

I'm happy with what I am using, so.....a little feedback from long term SPS keepers on Red Sea Coral Pro or others can sway my next move, if I decide to do so.

It's kinda ironic that I am using a Salt that I am happy with, that a lot of folks seem unhappy with! Delivered, it would save me tons just from not stopping in Lfs, lol....alas, Salinilty is Lfs only.
