Long/Wavy Interesting Coral

I know this is a very broad description but I am just getting ideas of what i could put in my tank that meets the following requirements: interesting to look at, long/wavy, can withstand a decent amount of flow, doesn't require intense lighting (i.e.-would survive under 144w of PC light...approx 6w per gallon at mid tank level), is easy to feed and care for, won't outgrow my BC29 or spread like wildfire and take over, isn't overly aggressive to other corals around it, doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I know that's a long list but I'm just trying to get ideas as I'm running out of room for corals and am down to the last few items that I'm going to put in so want to make them count. Pics would be extremely helpful. Thanks to any who reply!!!

Don't want a torch, had one last time and the thing was a monster that just grew extremely fast and i was constantly fragging it plus it was aggressive and would sting any corals within it's long reach.

i actually cant think of anything that would fit the descriptions you want.....maybe thats why there hasnt been that many responses.....but i'll be keeping an eye on this thread, as i would like to know as well

sun corals are good but they need every polyp feeding

i love sun corals and they are beautiful and interesting to watch but they aren't what I would call long or wavy. I was thinking maybe a rasta leather or something along that line...just need more ideas to choose from .

Finger leathers grow slowly, at least as far as leathers go.
also Pom Pom Zenia, but they have a rep for spreading fast.

What about a photosynthetic gorgonian? They are interesting, easy to frag, and do well in current. If you get a photosynthetic one, they are reasonably easy to care for.

If you are looking for sps, a small frag of millipora would look nice because they have small, but noticeably wavy ployps

frogspawn or a nice green hammer?..they're alot nicer than torch i think....maybe get a condy anemone? there are lotsa things but off the top of my head im blind just these stand out in my mind

Looks to me like you are looking for a gorgonian.

These two have to be surrounded by the rubble rock, or they will take over the tank, otherwise they met requirements:
Big - waving hand, anthelia, small - pulsing white pom-pom xenia:


Frogspawn moves in the flow, but it have to be downflow - or tentacles will burn the neighbors:


I like tube anemones, fluorescent with very thin tentacles, and had seen on the web photo of the one in the nano, in PVC tube in the corner. Never had them.

Orange swiftia non-photosynthetic gorgonian will not wave, but give up slightly in the flow, has to be fed frequently:

what about a leather...any interesting, out of the ordinary leathers out there (colorful would be a bonus)?

Leathers, that drew my attention in LFS:

Perfection of the shape: umbrella leather, Devil's hand;
Fluffy and comfortable: colt;
Color: bright yellow, pinkish and greenish leathers;
And something is in brown Younge (sp?) leather.

Yellow leather requires high light, as I heard.
Most of them are robust, and grow fast, should be cut down regularly.

I planned to have only them, but the small colonies were not available.
