How is your longnose butterfly doing? Hopefully still alive and eating well.
I find butterfly fish sometimes respond well to an opened-up clam from the store. I take a razor blade and slice up the meat a bit so they can pick pieces off easily. I agree about PE Mysis....most fish can't resist it.
I just bought a longnose butterfly last week and fortunately he was eating frozen mysis at the store, so he immediately ate well when in my tank. He's still being bullied a tad by the purple tang, but psychologically seems very solid...not shy at all. Although he's been healthy so far, he needs fattening up. He loves PE Mysis, but I want to feed whatever variety gets his weight where it should be fastest. My SPS seem to be enjoying the additional meaty foods.
An awesome addition to my tank so far. Perfect personality. No idea why I didn't think of it years before. A very striking fish. My purple tang is very beautiful too, but he easily blends in with the reef, whereas the longnose butterfly is super visible no matter how far I am from the tank.
