It's really weird. He was eating, getting into a rhythm. Showed no signs of illness other than some fin fraying, which I attested to stress.

Maybe he had some kind of infection that got him.

I tested the QT water and nothing was out of the ordinary.

This is why I buy my "special" fish from LA/DD. Their 14 day alive guarantee eases my mind. And if something doesn't survive, they have never even asked my for a picture. They just issue the credit with no hassle (IME).

Very true. My LFS will not do much if I lose a fish so i'll just go that route when I decide to get a higher dollar fishy..

Not to highjack the thread but when you buy from them whats the healthy to unhealthy ratio?

I've probably bought 10 fish from LA/DD and I think maybe two didn't make it. I will say that the two LFS's that I do most of my business with treat me very well. One replaced a $120 large Scotts Fairy Wrasse with no hassle at all.
