i was doing a water change today and took this. i took a lot more but the reflection from the lights messed the other up. is it best to take down shots with the mh off and use a flash or what?

i turn the flash off & all the lights on, my pic seem to turn out dull with the lights off,

Taking pictures with the tank lights on and flash off works best; however, you must manually set the white balance on your camera. There is a Reefkeeping article about it somewhere.

As far as taking pictures from the top...I have no idea. I have never done that.
