Looking for a 300 gallon tank - Advice PLEASE

Over the years, and after a few smaller tanks, 10, 14, 34, 50, 55, 60, 72, 72, and my current 92 the wife and I have decided we want to go big!

So, I'm eyeing some dimensions that I think will work really well for my living room...

96x24x30 = 300 gallons. I want glass, as I cannot stand even minor scratching on acrylic.

Suggestions on where to buy, why I don't really want glass, why that size is too big, or not big enough, etc...

I'm looking at a Leemar starphire front (sides not important in this location for about $1800 + freight as being my current "best" price, but that was after 15 seconds of searching, so please help suggest other options and better prices.

Also, who or what is A.G.E. and where are they located. I keep reading about their tanks with bonded PVC bottoms, acrylic bracing and glass sides.

I would talk to John at Your Reef, Isnt his display a 300 gallon with Starphire?

Let me look for this site i had they had really good prices just never seen there work but i think they have a great gurantee on them
 
Looks like $1000 for a 300 gallon "starphire like" without overflows, so somewhere north of that price...
 
A friend of mine has a 300 starphire (aquarium obcessed) reef ready. It's still crated and I don't think he is going to set it up. It's not cheap but it is top of the line and beauitful. Email me pv1191@comcast.net and I'll pass the info along to him if you're interested.
 
Well, that was an interesting dream that came crashing to a quick halt. Priced out a few tanks (I'm not suggesting that these tanks are remotely similar, other than starphire front glass and the dimensions)...

I am buying a truvu 300 96Lx30wx24h and it has a black back and dual built in overflows with a black bottom for 1700 and you can pickup in town.Every one I talked to says do not go glass that big.I had a 125 glass and barley bumped the edge and out came a big quarter sized chip so not to take a chance I replaced it with a truvu 125.Scratches can be polished out of acyrlyc but not glass I have scratched both types and was able to take out the scratch in acylyc but not the glass and for the chipped 125 it sits in my garage empty so if anyone needs a goog reptile home let me know.Plus truvus come with a lifetime warranty.Just my oppinion and no I do not work for truvu lol.
 
hey petes it would probably be cheaper if you change your dimensions if at all possible. 96x30x24 instead of 96x24x30 still going to cost a good penny though.
