I totally agree with you. I waited over a year or so to get mine (has almost no black spots).
The nicest one I've ever seen was LADD... solid yellow, with black crackle looking "wrinkles" around the eyes. I don't know if the owner has it still?

I think I have a very nice looking banana Eel, I am also bias.

Miliaris morays of any kind are rare, especially the banana morphs. In the past 4 years I have only seen two bananas for sale. Just be patient and wait for the best specimen to pop up. A lot of the ones I see collected are what I call 'moldy bananas', a lot of brown and very small.
I found the perfect specimen about two years ago, I sold it for $750. I hope one day I can find another perfect one like that.

Still hunting, found a supplier with many, they have a very poor rep and wont send me a photo . Still considering it. Got a skeletor eel today. 14" And fat. eating ect. will house him and banana in species tank with a couple damsels ( If they get hungry ). So am I told the true nice goldens come from brazil, and as nothing really nice comes from there ( atleast that cant be found somewhere else better and cheaper ) imports are limited to non existent. Let me know thoughts guys, DD Has nothing.

That is a pretty cool looking eel. Hope you made out on the deal when you sold it.
