Looking for a donation/cheap SPS!

Okay, the tank is all up and running. The Palythoa I have are doing quite well. I'd like to see how an SPS does...doesn't matter what it is. If someone has something small and free/cheap to let me try out, I'd appreciate it. The tank has about 100 lbs of live rock and 40 lbs of live sand in it, so I'm not really expecting a cycle...

LOL, Mike, you're an awesome guy. I only want one right now, and preferably small...so if you've got a smallish piece lying around, I'd be glad to take it off your hands. I don't want to waste a larger piece at all...I'm thinking Montipora would be a little more forgiving than an Acro at this point...perhaps one small frag of each to test it out?

Here are some pics of the tank up and running. I'm not quite certain the live rock arrangement will stay that way, so there could be some changes forthcoming. All in all, I'm pretty happy with it.

Seems like when you get sick of moving it around its good, Looks good to me. I don't see why you would have any problems with corals in there. How are we going to do this?

I'm going to try to make it up to Green Bay sometime this week or weekend. I'm not in a rush...I can work with whatever your schedule looks like and swing by to pick them up (I know you're outside of GB a bit, no problem).

I don't see why you would have any problems with corals in there.

The only thing is the tank is brand new, and the water might not be 100% stable quite yet...but we'll see. I do need to increase the salinity a bit (currently about 1.022).

Wheeeew... I was afraid I was going to have to answer one of those emails I keep getting about not being embarrased, you know, the "Increase your confidence" ones...

Fred, trunks swing downward, that definetly a horn of some sort.

Yep, I'm not allowed to post polls any more- or talk about structure. It's far to serious. I AM here to have as much fun as I can.

I have no idea what Jasons talking about as usual. I don't see anything that looks like a trunk or the other thing lol.

Anyway if I were you I'd still wait like 2 weeks and test the water.
The only way you know for sure is by testing for ammonia and nitrite.
Even if you use alot of live rock and sand it could still cycle depending on if theres any die off on the rock and where you got it from. If it was shipped it will most likely still cycle.

Kass, everything tests out perfect right now. I've had the rock for quite a while. I'm more worried about the things we don't test for. There's much more to keeping a successful marine aquarium than the basic things we test for.
