Theres the Two little fishes reactor thats very popular due to it's price.

And Next Reef looks like a good reactor, seams to be built a bit heavier than the TLF.

If you're on a budget, the TLF a decent choice. Bulk Reef Supply makes some pretty sturdy reactors but a little more $$.

I have 2 of the TLF reactors. One for Phosban and one for Carbon. Both work great and I have no complaints.

The TLF reactor looks like it would work well enough. It will be in the sump so any minor leaks would not be a problem. The reactor does not come with a powerhead or tubing, does anybody know the size tube needed to fit the reactor? and what size pump to power it?

It takes 1/2" tubing and it comes with a ball valve so you can dial back the flow. That mini jet would do the trick. You might want to grab about half a dozen 1/2" plastic hose clamps it only comes with one or two and you will need more.

The TLF reactor while cheap in price is even cheaper in construction. I would recommend spending a bit more cash and getting a quality built unit.

the reactor is 14 inches tall so I will probably buy 5 feet of tubing. How does that sound? and what rate pump is required? I can get either an 80gph or 160. with the 80gph pump, it all comes up to 92 dollars for the reactor, media, 8 clamps, 5 feet of tubing and the pump. How does this sound? Would I need to get anything else to get it up and running?

You only need about 20-30gph so, you'll have to use the ball valve to slow down the flow either way, so which ever pump is cheaper. As for the rest that's all you need to get it running.
