looking for a hair algae eating tang

Anyone got one they want to get rid of??? MY HA is growing back with avengance and MG is ineffective...
I'm thinking kole, Juve atlantic blue, sailfin or really anything at this point. I tried a foxface, but he is a total carnivore.... won't even eat Nori.
Let me know if anyone plans on ordering livestock any time soon.

I've never known a tang to eat hair algae. The only thing I've ever had eat it was a sea hare.

Zebrasoma tangs(yellow, purple, etc) work great for hair algae. sea hares, diadema, tuxedo urchins work very well also

My purple tang it's it. All i have left is a fat mean tang and some turf algae.

I am going to be selling my hippo tang when I take my tank down. He eats algae and should clean up your tank in no time...

Hey Adam, if you put in a livestock order, let me know. My PBT is a veritable lawnmower. There is no algae anywhere that he can reach. However, my observation with tangs is that they all eat hair algae in its immature form (ie when just starting to form on the rockwork). However they won't go near large tufts of hair algae. The only things I've seen attack that is an occasional foxface, and sea hares. Oh yeah, and a good scrub brush.

when you get tufts like that I rip them our by hand if I can get to them then the tangs and snails will take over usually.. if not then I grab the brush

I am not sure what my plans are yet but once I decide you guys will be the first to know. If I tank my 150 down it won't be right away. I am trying to hold out financially but things are getting really tough for me right now and if they don't get better I will have to take it down soon. I am not sure how much longer I can hold out. The company I am working for is in a transition period and things have been tight both for them and me. Meanwhile the taxes for my house went up expectantly last year by 35% :sad1: and they are going up another 17% next year :mad2: Gas has gone up, hell just about everything costs more money!!! Anyway I am done complaining because I know others are going through the same or worse than me.

The Kole tank is doing well, and I think I have nearly all my non-bryopsis algae taken care of.... now I'm fighting that battle, and losing. Mag's already up to 1800 and the stuff didnt even flinch
