looking for a mantis

Anyone know where I can find a mantis.. a peacock in or around Maryland? Not too many LFS around here except Petco and Petsmart.

WOW! That's a bunch. My friend owns the local pet store, so she just had her supplier keep an eye out for me. No peacock, but my last had so much personality, who needs looks!

yeah, $99 but its about 8 inchs long and beautiful colors. he paid $35 for it so you may be able talk him down since he has had it for a couple of months now and its costing him money everyday.

Thats the only one I have seen in maryland, i think I have been to just about everystore in the state. There is a place in glen burnie that might be able to find you one, nice folks up there. I was talking to one of the guys there and he was talking about mantis shrimp and stuff.

That's a big mantis! I guess by the time you factor in shipping, which can be a fortune depending on where you live, that might not be so much. It all depends on how bad you want one.

They don't get very big, so if you have a small tank, they are perfect. Beauty is definately in the eye of the beholder. I like the little guys myself. My last was full of personality, hopefully this new one will be too.
