So I guess a reeflo 200 will work? or do you think I need to get 250?

250! 250! 250!
I think you know hpw I feel:D .

Thats my thing, BKs and ATBs are great skimmers. But they are VERY expensive for what they are IMO. You pay a ton more cash for that Extra little bit of performance.

A 250 would probably be better. If you NEED it or not is hard to say. I have a 300 gallon (280 plus external overflows) Right now I just use a H&S A200-1260. Its doing the job. If I were to replace it tomorrow I'd probably get the Reeflo 250 just cause the 200 is only rated for up to 400 gallons. My tank is 300 gallons plus a 100 gallon sump. Sure my running water volume with LR coral, ect ect is much less but still I would like a little more buffer. Your better off oversizing a little then under.

Isn't atb coming up with a "ATB ECONO" with a single Sicce as well. reefspecialty has it for less than $800. Do you guys know anything about that? Timing? Rating? Spec? etc...

OK. I have been trying to talk my wife into getting an external but everytime I mention there is a slight chance of overflow, she immediately shots down that idea.

If I can't have an external, which skimmer should I get?

I've had a External for over 2 years and never had it overflow once.. If your really worried about it a Drain from the skimmer cup to the sump would fix this. That way if the cup gets to a certain point it overflows back into the sump.. that or mount a float switch in the cup connected to a relay that controls the feed pump for the skimmer.. Cup fills up to the top the float kicks the feed pump off lowering the level in the skimmer. Several ways to fix the problem :)
