Looking for a skimmer

My wife just got a new 60 gallon w/sump and we are looking for a skimmer for it. Having trouble finding one to sit in 7 inches of water and be no larger then 6X6. Anybody know of any good skimmers that fit the bill?

You can check out BRS. They have a few that would work out for you.

Reef Octopus BH50
Skimz Monzter SM121 Internal Protein Skimmer

I haven't used either of those because I have always planned my sump size for the skimmer that I wanted rather than buy the sump then get the skimmer that will fit it. I personally have a Vertex Omega 180i and a Vertex Alpha 150 and love them both. The build quality is awesome and they both work great.

I hear you, she bought the tank and I had to make a stand to fit it. That only left her with a 10 gal or a 15 tall as options. She was super anxious to get it running and couldn't find a 15 tall. So as a good husband I said the only correct response of "yes babe."

You have learned to master the emotions of the wife. :love2: Just think when you tell her that she cannot put anything in the aquarium for at a minimum of 3 weeks before it cycles. I already know that she is going to say "Why not". Be prepared to let her know (if she doesn't already) that nothing in the hobby happens overnight.

She's aware of all the waiting for that. She's trying to build a seahorse tank and get into a breeding program to raise some vulnerable hawaiian species for reintroduction. Just bored of seeing an empty tank. Been real good at testing the water every day to come tell me what part of the cycle she's on lol. Plus it helps her understand why I have to spend so much time on my tank sometimes

So you are definitely not new to it all which will definitely be beneficial in her endeavor. Guess I could have looked at your post count and saw that. Lol
