had some bad luck trying to drill a 55g, so now i need something else!

let me know if you have anything sitting around!
Thanks
Ben

NO PICTURES!!!
not sure what brand it was, or how old. i am sure it is rather old. I called around before about getting a new piece cut incase this happened, and i am looking at just shy of $100 for the glass, but the top black frame also split!

for 100 Id go acrylic and get it right. No sens ein spending 100 and haveing to do all the reseal work on the 55, Last I check a 1/4 sheet was around 150ish.... I may be remebering wrong but it was under 200 for sure

i found an acrylic 65g on ebay for around $150 shipped. with your guestimated prices, it might just be worth it especially including time!

As long as its setup ho you want it thats a good price, If you have to modify it it may be better just learning to build it yourself.... Then again I just like building stuff so my opinion may be different than others

I build acrylic sumps, 150.00 shipped is a good deal.. If its good quality, take it....

define good quality.
send me a cost if your interested in making me one! assume a bubble trap and refuguim on far side. the 48x12.5x21 fits through the doors good, but maybe not as tall would work too.

ok, i just called the company glasscages.com to see what the real total was.

55g tank (48x12.5x21) is $120 + $37sh + $75 for the 4 baffles installed.
or the 45g tank (48x12.75x17) is $80 + $28sh + $75 for the 4 baffles.

i am leaning toward the 45g because i don't need the height that much. it will just make the refug a little smaller.

i would like a wider tank, but 4' long and any wider won't go through the doors. I want to be able to remove the sump without tearing down the tank if needed.

Keep in mind you may be able to reinforce the stand to hold the weight of the tank without breaking the stand down. My 180 stand is built to hold the 180 with no center brace on the front and its an 8' span.

I thought about that. It could be done with a 2x6 across and couple on each end, then tied to the back. Then cut the center brace out, but now it will be too small to fit back without the gaps from the saw, oh yah and getting the staples out somehow .... i am sure this would lead to something else and then something else needing changed and so on!
