Looking for a Tank Setup

I originally wanted an Elos. Then I read up on the drama surrounding lack of support and even fake Elos tanks.

After that I went looked at Crystal Dynamics and ended up ordering a custom tank the same size as an Elos 120XL. What made it even better was that I could go with a ghost overflow instead of an internal corner one.

For a tank 120+ I would definitely recommend going with CD. I don't have experience with the other companies, but if I were to pick one of the three, I'd go with Red Sea simply because they are a larger, more reputable company.

No on ELOS. While the quality of the seams on and bezel on the glass were good, everything else was not, including support. The stands were pretty bad, and the sump/skimmers were absolutely not usable.

Now that have a Red Sea Reefer, and even dealt with a cracked tank (upon delivery), I'm confident that the Reefer are as good if not better.

Subjectively, I wish there was an external or corner overflow than a huge internal center overflow. Not for performance, but for aesthetics. Some of the seams aren't perfect looking, but it's hardly noticeable. But otherwise the sump is well designed, and so far the stands seem nice.

If I could, I would've gotten a peninsula tank from them, but at the time they didn't offer the 500, and even then that's a bit bigger than I wanted.

My ultimate tank will most likely be a Crystal Dynamics or Reef Savvy custom, with a ghost overflow like D-Nak mentioned (but on the side/corner for a peninsula form).
