<a href=showthread.php?s=&postid=7058028#post7058028 target=_blank>Originally posted</a> by fishnerd2004 I have a 240 gallon tank. All unstained oak with a glass front. $250
Does he know that shark tanks are boring? They require so much room but can't hold many fish. There can't be much rock and many sharks sleep or hide during the day so you don't even see them much.
Just think of all the corals and different fish he could have instead.
This is a picture of the tank sitting on my pool table. It's 2'x2'x8' and built from 3/4" oak and 3/8" glass. The glass is new so it has no scratches. Tank has 2 - 1.5" bulkheads built in but I have not built overflows for it. My wife didn't like the idea of a "homemade" tank leaking in the living room so I promised her I would fill it in the basement until she felt comfortable moving it upstairs. The tank was built and filled with water for 10 months. I now have a 65" television in the spot the tank should have gone so the tank has just been sitting around. I have thought about setting it up as a fish only tank built into a bar in the basement, but it will be at least another year or two before I build a bar. The price is the same as it would cost to build your own without the bulkheads. $140 for glass, $80 for wood, and $30 for sealant. P.M. me for more info.
Cool tank! Talked to my buddy and i guess he talked his father in law into giving him his 125. Not big enough for sharks but hell never get sharks anyway....i think hes been watching to much discovery channel.
