Looking for a velvet nudibranch for flatworm problem

As the title says - In need of a velvet nudibranch to have at these flatworms that are beginning to smother zoas. Anyone in the nudbranch biz?

Liveaquaria sells them. When M C F was still open they were able to get me a couple. So you can also check with your LFS to see if they can get you some. I use to have a 92 gal flatworm infested and 2 velvet nudis eradicated them all. Havent seen any flatworms since. After all flatworm were gone, the nudis disappeard

In my experience the mortality rate for the Velvet Nudibranch is incredibly low....They were extremely slow and did not consume planaria at a high rate. I would highly recommend an inexpensive Yellow Coris wrasse instead. They are much hardier and eat far more planaria to make an impact....plus wrasses eat all sorts of food so when the planaria is gone the fish won't starve to death"¦.
If you really must have a Velevet Nudibranch, Dave at AquaPros gets them in from time to time so I'm sure a call to him will result on your acquiring one.

They didnt seem like they ate much in my tank, but they produced some mucousy stuff that killed the flatworms in my tank, trapped the flatworms like a web. Then all the flatworms just eventually disappeared. I havent seen one flatworm since they disappeared 2 yrs ago. Their mucous never harmed my corals.

wow thats fascinating dragon warrior! see the thing is, they are really bad at the moment to the point of smothering some of the coral. Liveaquaria said they wouldnt be able to get one to me for about a month. I was looking for something immediate. Its a 12 gallon tank, and already tried a sixline wrasse, a friend's mandarin as well - no luck.

I guess if I found a small enough coris wrasse - however the tank includes 2 very docile bluestripe pipefish and an ocellaris clown that hasn't shown any aggression.

We got one from LA, it disappeared after a week. Our yellow coris doesn't touch the flatworms anymore, so they were getting out of hand. We have a small Melanurus wrasse in the fuge that ate every flatworm down there. My boyfriend finally got sick of it & used a flatworm removal product last Friday. Way less flatworms, but there are still some in there. We need to just catch the Melanurus and put her in the DT, but she's still small enough to be bullied by our Orbic cardinal.

My Yellow Coris wrasse has demolished them I haven't seen any in awhile but then again my Mandarin could have taken some out as well. But in any case all are hit or miss. But it seem Yellow Coris wrasses will do the trick.
