Looking for a wrasse

Currently looking for a wrasse to help control my pod population, seems like I have an explosion of amphipods running around. I currently don't have any fish that would eat them. What type of wrasse would you guys recommend? I'm looking for something that would leave me cleaner shrimps, snails, crabs alone.

May need to also find a type that can hold his own, as my purple tang has become a real punk with new acquisitions.

Melanarus. Very active fish, not easily intimidated, and a great Hunter. Reef Safe also

When it comes to crabs and snails, I heard melanurus are hit and miss. I had one that was full size and never bothered my CUC or shrimp. They are great. If you have room the Melanurus and yellow coris seem to me the most "functional" wrasses although all wrasses are pod hunters to a certain extent. My question is why are you concerned with pod population. Most of us would kill to have an excess of little bugs, LOL!

I did pick up a melanurus wrasse yesterday and going through qt at the moment. My issue is amphipods, there's a swarm of them living under my liverock and currently seems like they're irritating my zoanthids. And since I have nothing that eats them currently, they've seem to be a bit ballsy and have been free roaming all over my tank.

I've had this tank up and running for about a little over a month, and their numbers are huge. Now I had the liverock for about 3 years in a previous tank with the same fish. So I had nothing that kept it under control. Also I do have a good amount of chitons that roam around on my live rock. Would i have to worry about a decrease in population when I add the melanurus?

After qt I'm planning on throwing the wrasse into my 20g that's only has snails, crabs, and a peppermint shrimp, just to test out before adding it to my DT. If it does than it's going up for sale. Lol

I heard they're great fish, however I am a bit worried as I've grown to like my 2 cleaners, one fire and one skunk. And I also admire my porcelain crab and my clam, as I heard they might go for the foot if they find it tasty.

Won't bother any of your clean up crews. I've had Melanarus for years. Another good option is any of the leopard wrasse species.
